Q: How does the system work?
A: The system uses ultrasonic echolation sonar technology to alert drivers of impending collisions, when a vehicle is engaged in reverse. The system utilizes 3 or 4 detectors on the rear bumper (depending on the size of the vehicle). A speaker and a main power unit housing an 8-bit microprocessor together with our VDI (Voice Distance Indicator) module. Echo-location sonar is the same technology used by the US Navy to locate submarines and mines.

Q: Does the system work in bad weather?
A: The system operate in ALL weather conditions (fog, rain, snow, darkness, bright sun, hot & cold)


Q: Does the system constantly talk and beep?

A: When activated, by placing your vehicle in reverse gear, you will hear one beep tone...this tells you the system is on and ready. Your system will then be silent until there is an object behind your vehicle, at this time you will hear a voice counting down the distance of the object.

Q: Which model should I select?
A: The VRS 3 is our base unit. This system is available on all vehicles up to 7.5 feet wide. The VRS 4 is our commercial unit used on vehicles7.5 feet or wider. Motor Homes, buses and light to heavy duty trucks. The VRS 6 system is available on most newer vehicles with a non-metal bumper. The VRS 6 has a clean flush mount to the bumper and looks like a factory installed system. It can be used on vehicles up to 8 feet wide.

Q: What about installation?
A: Installation on most vehicles should take approximately one hour. We do send out an installation video and also have instructions on our website...if you still have questions you can call our toll-free number to speak to our installer. No special tools are needed for installation...a list and pictures of the tools needed are sent out with the product.
